The beginnings of the activities of the felician sisters in Oleśnica in the years 1948-1954
Abstract: The Felician Sisters arrived in Oleśnica in 1948 upon the invitation of Father Antoni Reczuch. Their 75 years of activity have become deeply ingrained in Oleśnica’s identity. The richness of source materials housed in the Archive of the Przemyśl Province of the Felician Sisters, as well as in the chronicles of individual subsidiary houses, vividly demonstrates their zealous apostolic work. These sources also invite historians to study them and present the Felician Sisters’ activities to the wide public opinion. Keywords: Felician Sisters, Oleśnica, nuns, religious apostolate, educational activities, charitable works.

Forms of preaching the word of God as essential elements of faith growth
Abstract: This article presents the most important aspects of proclaiming the Word of God in the Church. Each form of preaching described in it should primarily involve the proclamation of the Gospel and the continuation of the redemptive work of Christ. Since the inception of the Church, proclaiming the Word of God has been one of its three fundamental functions. The primary form of preaching is always the homily, for which the Bible serves as a foundational and indispensable source. Proclamation, by its nature, must be mystagogical and continually support the process of forming listeners of the Word of God. Therefore, the personal dimension of preaching is significant, which, as a consequence, should lead to a direct dialogue between God and the listener. Keywords: preaching the word of God, function as a teacher of the Church, homily, sermon, conference, catechesis, preacher, listener.

The image of antichrist in The New Testament
Abstract: The concept of the Antichrist appears in the Holy Scripture exclusively in the First and Second Letters of Saint John the Apostle, where the author uses this term to describe gnostics and heretics. However, biblical tradition and the commentaries of Church Fathers expand the meaning of this concept, labeling as Antichrists rulers-tyrants, false messiahs, Satan, and powers opposed to Christianity. The biblical portrayal of the Antichrist is not consistent and leaves ample room for interpretation and overinterpretation. Keywords: antichrist, Bible, Epistles of St. John the Apostle, the Apocalypse of St. John the Apostle, biblical theology, fight against the Church.

Evangelizing effectiveness – pipe dream or mission?
Abstract: The Church of Christ has no other task than evangelization: “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature!” (Mk 16:15). The question arises: how can one measure the effectiveness of evangelization?
Certainly, the effectiveness of evangelization falls under clear criteria. In the article, we demonstrate that at least two such criteria play a significant role. We have named the first criterion “in the name of Jesus”, and the second criterion “in the will of God”. Both of these criteria fulfill two characteristic and important conditions: they are characterized by feature of evangelism and possess the property of dynamic change. Keywords: evangelization, effectiveness, mission of the Church, criteria of effectiveness, “in the name of Jesus”, “in the will of God”, evangelizing dynamism.

The role of family in discernment and priestly formation using the example of Marianna and Juliusz Kolbe
Abstract: Seminary formation is a process of maturing for the purpose of engaging in a unique mission – a mission that Jesus Christ once entrusted to His Apostles. By calling young men to proclaim the Gospel, this command is extended. To fulfill this mission within the Church community, seminary formation prepares individuals on various levels: human, intellectual, spiritual, and pastoral. However, it is important to emphasize the role of the family, which actively participates in the formation of the future priest. The parents of St. Maximilian, Marianna and Juliusz Kolbe, through their faithfulness to God and the consequence with which they passed on their faith, played an active role not only in discovering a vocation by their sons but also throughout their entire religious formation and priestly life. Keywords: Marianna and Juliusz Kolbe, Franciscanism, vocation, family, formation, gift, task, decision.

The “hotline” of pre-marriage courses. Pre-marital courses in the key of evangelization
Abstract: Preparing engaged couples for the sacrament of marriage is an incredibly challenging and attention-demanding task. This challenge is aimed at the people of the Church, pastors, and those who wish to support engaged couples in discovering the beauty of the sacrament and accompanying them in receiving this gift. The analysis of social phenomena can be a help for all those who wish to engage in this process. Mutual responsibility for the Church and for marriage candidates can become the starting point for the changes that the current practice of sacramental preparation requires. Preparation for the sacrament is ultimately a significant task for the individuals involved themselves, as they aim to build their lives on Christ. The success of their desire to build a community of married and family life depends on their commitment and openness to His grace. Keywords: sacrament of marriage, premarital course, marriage, family, theology of marriage, family theology, conjugal love.

There is a “worm” in our Church
Abstract: Based on the account of the battle between angels and Satan in the Book of Revelation, it becomes clear that evil is among us. It is inevitably present in our Church as well. The notion of linking conception to sin is widespread, leading to the inference that sexuality is sinful, and thus every individual inherits sin. However, the truth is different. Sexuality is a gift from God to humanity. It is, among other ways, an expression of human love (erotic love).
Responsible handling of sexuality is essential. Freedom within its domain is not absolute but conditional and therefore responsible. For addressing the abuses committed in the Church’s past, we all need a sober perspective. Perpetrators must be held accountable – even after a long time. The image of the Adoration of the Lamb in the Ghent Cathedral is striking. It portrays various people in a paradise garden. The Resurrected Lord, who was killed, is not a small lamb but powerful. Everyone turns their eyes to such a Lord of life. Keywords: Catholic Church, original sin, sin in the Church, sexuality, integral vision of man, sexual crimes, conversion.

The presence of blessed cardinal S. Wyszyński at the millennial celebrations in the Wrocław archdiocese in the light of state administration sources
Abstract: The beginnings of the Polish state are closely linked to the baptism of Mieszko I and the introduction of Christianity. Therefore, the Church intended to commemorate the millennium jubilee of this event. The authorities also wanted to celebrate the 1000 years of the existence of the Polish state. However, the rulers sought to effectively separate these two commemorations and make it challenging to conduct the celebration of Christianity’s millennium jubilee by the Church community. Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, the Primate, put a lot of effort into ensuring that the spiritual dimension of this event would yield the greatest results. To achieve this, he composed the “Jasna Góra Vows”, initiated the pilgrimage of a copy of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa image across the country, and during the jubilee year, he participated with the Polish Episcopate in the festivities organized in episcopal cities. The millennial celebrations in the Wrocław Archdiocese were set for mid-October, coinciding with the liturgical memorial of the patroness of Silesia, St. Hedwig of Silesia. During that time, the state administration apparatus organized celebrations that were somewhat competitive with the church ones and closely monitored believers and Church Hierarchs. Keywords: Millennium of the Baptism of Poland, Millennium of the Polish State, card. Bishop Bernard Józef Bogedain (1810-1860) – Wrocław suffragan – sympathizer of the upper silesian people Abstract: In the light of this study, the figure of Bishop Bernard Józef Bogedain, the Wrocław Suffragan from 1857 to 1860, comes into view. Raised in a Polish environment, he attempted, as an educational adviser in the Opole region, to introduce the Polish language into schools in Upper Silesia. As an auxiliary bishop to Archbishop Henryk Förster, he gained significant sympathy from the Polish population by addressing them in literary Polish during his canonical visitations. Undoubtedly, he was one of the Silesian clergy who contributed to the rekindling of Polish identity in Upper Silesia. He fully deserves greater attention from Polish historians. Keywords: bishop Bernard Józef Bogedain, bishopric of Wrocław, Silesian education, Polish language, auxiliary bishop, Upper Silesia, clergy.

Christian formation of men: a case study of The Road of the Brave community
Abstract: In recent years, there has been a certain becoming outdated way of defining masculinity, which has been defined in the past decades. This process is commonly referred to as the crisis of masculinity or the crisis of fatherhood. There is also an indication of the contemporary man’s loss of awareness of his supernatural dignity. At the same time, the significance of new initiatives by laypeople in the Catholic Church is growing, initiatives that can remind modern individuals of their identity and divine origin. An example of such a movement is the Road of the Brave, which aims to promote a vision of masculinity where a man discovers his vocation and identity, enabling him to be a guide for others. This community encourages its members not only to take care of their spiritual lives but also provides support to men in their physical and personal development. A challenge for this movement is to seek more and more better methods, forms, and tools for pastoral work with men in the Church, adapted to the conditions and challenges of the contemporary world. Keywords: The Road of the Brave, man, formation, Church, community, masculinity, postmodernism, movement, crisis, fatherhood.

Structural conditions of human obedience in the light of psychological knowledge
Abstrakt: A study in the field of psychology addresses the topic of human obedience. It is not based on experimental research, as it is purely theoretical in nature. The author is interested in the structural conditions of subordination: the biological foundation on which obedience is born, the influences exerted in the process of upbringing, and its assimilation into the human personality. A constitutive yet fundamental component of this mechanism is the will, which, within specific internal configurations and distinct external constellations, modifies human attitudes. This dispositional aspect of the will is a gift of human nature, a neurophysiological capability, and a conscious decision-making process concerning one’s own behaviors and actions. Thus, the individual genotype and phenotype shape the subjective approach of a given person to obedience. Keywords: obedience, subordination, will, free will, motivation, neurophysiology, parenting style, personality, disorder, human genotype and phenotype.

Truth in the human life – on (un)necessary truth. Analysis of the problem in light of selected texts by Benedict XVI and Richard Rorty
Abstract: There is a belief that currently philosophy is divided into the metaphysical world and the post-metaphysical world. The subject of this dispute are values, including the value of truth. Two thinkers who were on opposite sides of the axiological divide, Richard Rorty and Pope Benedict XVI, participated in this dispute with their distinct views. The aim of this article is an attempt to present a certain axiological “tension” between the views of Richard Rorty and Pope Benedict XVI. The common field of discussion becomes the issue of truth in human life, both on an individual and societal level. However, it seems that comparing the thoughts of both thinkers in this area is justified not only for methodological reasons but also for substantive ones. Keywords: truth, value, Benedict XVI, Richard Rorty, the metaphysical world, the postmetaphysical world.
