Powołanie kapłańskie – dar Boga i wolna odpowiedź człowieka
Abstract: The priestly vocation as a divine calling pertains to the realm of a person’s deepest experiences and their relationship with God. It always originates from God’s initiative, who invites one to follow His voice. However, God never restricts human free will – He allows a person to make the final choice in pursuing the path of their vocation. This article illustrates how God has acted throughout the centuries, calling people in various ways to respond to His invitation to follow the voice of vocation, as well as how individuals have answered that call.

Keywords: vocation, God, human, Benedict XVI, John Paul II.

Overcoming challenges, providing motivation, and awakening of faith are just some of the
areas in which the dynamism of modern religious education in schools becomes evident.

Keywords: Cappadocian Fathers, St. Augustine; theophany; illumination; early Eastern Church theology; early Eastern Church philosophy.

KATECHEZA W HISTORII KOŚCIOŁA

Abstract: Catechesis is the education in the faith of children, young people and adults
and includes teaching Christian doctrine that is transmitted in a systematic and holistic
manner in order to introduce believers to the fullness of Christian life. Despite the passage
of centuries of history, it has always been the same – the catechesis of the Church, and the
only things that have changed are its form, functions and methods of implementation.

Keywords: history, Church, catechesis, lay people.

DIE KUNST SPRICHT IMMER…

Abstract: A priest is always a translator: from biblical texts to the lives of contemporary
people, from the transcendence of divinity to our everyday reality, but also from the artistic
expression of our church interiors to the language of the viewer. One must boldly oppose
kitsch, cleanse interiors, and make room for something new – truly artistic. Retired Bishop
Friedhelm Hofmann of Würzburg writes: “In art, we have a mirror in which the rays of divine
glory shine”. Elsewhere he states: “Art has a mission and the capacity to proclaim”. The
artist Markus Lüpertz asserts: “Church interiors require care. One must also invest money
in the beauty of the church. The Catholic Church lives precisely from the closeness of heaven.
And we must create this closeness through works of art. After all, it is about visualizing
God”. Timothy Radcliffe summarizes it succinctly: “Beauty has an authority that touches
our inner freedom and therefore opens doors to faith for many”. Our churches cannot be
museums or closed systems. They are meant to be inviting communities, moving along
diverse paths toward a single goal: God.

Keywords: church art, beauty, artistry, interior architecture, sacred, sacred art.

CONTEMPORARY EVANGELIZATION CHALLENGES BASED ON THE SPIRITUALITY OF ST. JOHN BOSCO

Abstract: Developmental tendencies are not conducive to spiritual growth, especially
among young people. This is due to a diminished attachment to values rooted in tradition
and to technological progress. Saint John Bosco was already aware of the seriousness of this
issue. By adapting the preventive system in his oratories, he emphasized that the educator
of children functions as a friend—one who not only supervises but also supports. Even
in his time, Bosco recognized that globalization could bring both benefits and risks. This
process reminds us that we live in a “global village”, where everyone has the right to live
and profess their faith. At the same time, it highlights humanity’s growing preoccupation
with the value of money. This article encourages reflection on the importance of God’s role
in our lives and on the spiritual impoverishment that occurs when spirituality is lost, all
framed within the context of the spirituality of Saint John Bosco.

Keywords: John Bosco, evangelization, globalization, spirituality, loss of spirituality, preventive
system, education.

PODWYŻSZENIE ŚWIĘTEGO KRZYŻA W LITURGIACH KOŚCIOŁÓW SYRYJSKICH ZE SZCZEGÓLNYM UWZGLĘDNIENIEM TRADYCJI ZACHODNIO-SYRYJSKIEJ MARONICKIEJ

Abstract: In all liturgical traditions of the Syriac Churches, the Feast of the Elevation of the
Holy Cross plays a central theological and liturgical role, connecting the faithful with the
mystery of the cross as a symbol of redemption. In the West Syriac tradition, especially within
the Maronite Church, this celebration highlights the purpose and meaning for which
the mystery of the Incarnation was fulfilled in Christ, revealing His victory over death and
carrying a deeply eschatological character. The stages of the Elevation of the Cross liturgy
emphasize the significance of Christ’s Passion and invite the faithful to meditate on the
role of the cross in salvation. This article attempts to analyze the theological and liturgical
aspects of this feast within the traditions of the Syriac Churches.

Keywords: Elevation of the Cross, liturgy, Syriac Churches, West Syriac Tradition, Maronite
Church, cross, Asqta, Qadmaya Shubḥa, Ṣalib, eschatology.

POMIĘDZY ÉLAN VITAL A KOSMICZNYM „PUNKTEM OMEGA”.
Studium porównawcze filozoficznych koncepcji ewolucji u Henriego Bergsona i Pierre’a Teilharda de Chardina

Abstract: The aim of this article is to explore the relationship between the theological and
philosophical ideas of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and another French thinker, Henri Bergson.
Father Teilhard, a French Jesuit, is known for his bold and innovative ideas, especially
his attempts to show the role of the Absolute in the process of evolution. Looking at
the philosophical environment of that time, it is striking how much interest there was in
evolutionism. This was largely due to Henri Bergson, a well-known and respected Jewish
philosopher. In this article, we present the key concepts and ideas of both scholars. By comparing
them, we ask: Did Father Teilhard try to bring Bergson’s evolutionism into Catholic
theology or are their ideas fundamentally different?

Keywords: evolution, élan vital, omega point, cosmogenesis, Henri Bergson, Pierre Teilhard
de Chardin.

A SKETCH OF PRIESTLY SPIRITUALITY ACCORDING TO RATZINGER
IN THE COLLECTION OF HOMILIES SERVANTS OF YOUR JOY

Abstract: The homiletic publication in question was first issued in 1988, when Joseph
Ratzinger was serving as Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. In
2005, with the author already exercising his office as Benedict XVI, a subsequent edition
appeared, thereby receiving a form of sanction through the dignity of his new role. The
seven homilies collected therein delineate a vision of priestly spirituality, which the present
article seeks to systematize in two complementary perspectives. First, priesthood is
presented as a vocation to bear witness, unfolding within the ambivalence between human
imaginings and lived reality. It is always a gift, never a right or entitlement of the discerner.
It constitutes the testimony to Jesus Christ through the totality of one’s existence. Second,
attention is drawn to the dynamics of priestly life. The crucible in which this dynamic is
realized is prayer in its diverse forms, above all the Eucharist in its inseparable relation to
the sacrament of Holy Orders. This substantive core is preceded by a brief introduction to
the author and his work.

Keywords: Joseph Ratzinger, priesthood, Eucharist, spirituality, witness, vocation, joy.

radzenia sobie w sytuacjach trudnych

Abstract: The article examines the concept of locus of control within both psychological
and theological frameworks, integrating the theories of Julian Rotter, Albert Bandura, and
Alfred Adler with Augustine’s notion of the relationship between grace and nature. The
author demonstrates how an individual’s sense of control influences coping strategies in
difficult situations, drawing on research findings concerning victims of cyberbullying, physically
disabled youth, and aggressive adolescents. The article highlights the consequences
of both internal and external loci of control and their impact on agency, motivation, and
psychological well-being. It emphasizes that a balance between actively shaping one’s own
life and entrusting oneself to a higher order can foster fuller human development and more
effective stress management.

Keywords: locus of control, sense of agency, coping strategies, grace and nature, social
determinism.

JUBILEE OF OUR REDEMPTION IN THE YEAR 2033 –
FROM THE PASTORAL THEOLOGY PERSPECTIVE

Abstract: Pastoral theology, conscious of the Church’s goals, must look far into the future.
This begins with establishing the starting point for the Church’s future actions, namely the
awareness of the multifaceted crisis of Christianity. Facing this difficult truth resembles
taking on the role of the biblical prophets, such as Ezekiel. Only in the most challenging situation
did he hear the voice pointing to the fourfold breath of the Holy Spirit. In line with
this image, we point to the prophetic significance of the Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis
(USA, 2024), then to the appeals of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the USA in
2023, followed by the analogous appeal of the Polish Renewal, and finally to the calls of the
Polish Episcopate (2024). All these impulses indicate the year 2033 as the moment of the
Jubilee of Redemption. The Jubilee is an entry onto the path set out by Pope Pius XI in 1933
and Pope John Paul II in 2000, and it may become an essential element shaping a better
future for the Church.

Keywords: jubilee, Holy Spirit, future of Christianity, contemporary prophecy.

PROTOLOGIA I ESCHATOLOGIA
W PERSPEKTYWIE WOLNOŚCI OSOBY LUDZKIEJ

Abstract: There are a number of studies on the description of the biblical paradise and
the human wickedness associated with it. There is also no shortage of studies attempting
to read the Book of Revelation. However, the author of the article is interested in the relationship
between protology and eschatology. Therefore, he seeks an answer to the question
of how protology is fulfilled in eschatology and what the death and resurrection of Christ
contributes to this relationship. The author begins his search for an answer by reading the
event that took place „in the beginning” in the Garden of Eden, which became a test of
human freedom. God does not leave his creation in solitude. The new Eden after the flood
is an attempt to restore the disturbed order. Ultimately, the restored freedom of the person
is a condition for achieving paradise. The analysis of the text of the Book of Genesis and
the Book of Revelation allows us to draw a conclusion regarding the renewed relationship
between God and redeemed humanity.

Keywords: Garden of Eden, paradise, freedom, original sin, moral order.

EWOLUCJA OBRAZU SIEBIE –
AUTOWERYFIKACJA MŁODEGO POKOLENIA
Z DOLNOŚLĄSKICH SZKÓŁ W ZAKRESIE UZDOLNIEŃ

Abstract: The process of shaping one’s self-image is long-lasting and complex. It begins in
early childhood and, although with varying intensity, lasts throughout a person’s life. Two
periods of a human person’s life are most important for this process. First of all, it is the
period of childhood when, under the influence of family influences, the individual gradually
builds an increasingly complex self-image. The importance of this stage is fundamental
because the self-image formed at this time is very strongly rooted in a person. Although
the self-image formed in childhood may undergo modifications later in life, these changes
must be confronted with the information we already have about ourselves. This may
make it difficult to accept new information about yourself, especially when there are too
large discrepancies between the new information and your existing beliefs about yourself.
The period of adolescence is also important for the process of shaping one’s self-image.
Due to a number of physical and mental changes taking place in a young person’s life and
the developmental tasks facing him during this period, he is forced to consciously reflect
on himself. It can be confidently stated that self-image, or more precisely – its evaluative
and evaluative element, i.e. self-esteem – is extremely important for the functioning of an
individual in various areas of life. Positive and adequate self-esteem gives a person a sense
of meaning and happiness and influences the broadly understood quality of life. That is why adolescents’ self-image became the subject of research in this doctoral dissertation.
The research group was narrowed down to adolescents from selected junior high and high
schools in Legnica.

Keywords: Adolescent, person’s development, self-image, self-esteem, self-creation.
